Stephen and Michael Launchbury undertook a thorough assessment of the business model at the Alexandra Theatre, including a review of the theatre’s aims and objectives, its management operation, its artistic programme and its audience, alongside an examination of current and potential sources of primary and secondary income. Our recommendations were accepted by Arun District Council and by leading stakeholders including the University of Chichester. This study was undertaken with Arup and Burrell Foley Fischer, the theatre architectural practice.
Stephen was also commissioned by the Council in 2021 to support the successful bid to the Levelling Up Fund for £19.4m towards the redevelopment of the theatre.
